replying to u/zbewbies: >I have to be real, I don’t trust any food site to tell me about Szechuan restaurants in NYC anymore. Is Reddit not a similar forum as those food sites? Or do you mean articles about food from non-experts? I'd recommend first looking at **Sichuan** versus that antiquated Cantonese influenced spelling. There's a few that I think stand out depending on your preference certain items: Chong Qing Lao Zao is probably overall favorite, especially for hot pot. Fish With You serves the best Sichuan based stews. Hot oil fish or sauerkraut fish. Tai Er is a chain and Nai Brother is its LIC equivalent. Hot Space (all locations) and Chuan Tian Xia in Brooklyn. Little Pepper is a nice, family run place that does a good job with homestyle dishes. Red Sorghum or HUPO in LIC if you are someone who loves ambiance. Alley 41 or Cheli their private rooms and excellent presentation.
“Seconding Fish With You and Little Pepper!”
