replying to u/abcxs1963: When we were in NYC in September my family bought some type of food every day from Gourmet 45 (at the corner of 3rd Ave and E 45th St) we did have one takeout meal from the hot bar/cold salad bar and enjoyed it. There is also Amish Market closer to 2nd Ave on 45th St that had all kinds of prepared food including a hot food bar. It also had a coffee bar and a very nice food market for regular to gourmet grocery items. We didn't discover it until the last day of our visit but would definitely go back if we are ever in the area again.
