I’ve searched up a few places and looked at photos of their egg tarts, and Tao Hong’s looks the best out of the ones I’ve seen; I think I also looked at egg tarts from Golden Manna, Golden Fung Wong, and Ka Wah. I’d be interested to find out if my conjecture is correct! on a side note, I’d be interested in knowing what the custard in Tao Hong’s pineapple bun looks like, because the bun looks near perfect on the outside!!

    They're not going to be mind blowing but they're cheap and tasty, I always get one or two when I drop by there. I think they also have one of the better/best wife cookies amongst the bakeries.

  • replying to u/Jakoobus91: Thank you. I had heard about the pineapple pork bun from a little digging before I posted. I'll definitely be trying that now that ive seen it twice. The rice roll idea sounds fun too. Thanks for recs!
