replying to u/salted-egg-yolk: chikarashi. can even get a dole whip you can get halal carts if you don’t get white sauce. some places have tahini which honestly tastes better anyway. always add green sauce if they have it. lots of halal/middle eastern sit down restaurants here have yogurt-based stuff tho, beware lots of chinese and sushi options fortunately there’s a blog called nut free new york which is out of date but may be of some use. and in general i recommend calling places before just showing up with severe allergies. may be super obvious advice but i see a lot of diners show up during rush hours with strict requests and it’s not ideal*
