replying to u/crazeman: Bahn Mi Saigon for their #1 viet sandwich. John's Deli in Brooklyn for their roast beef. Lioni in Brooklyn for their Italian sandwiches. All'Antico Vinaio is a famous sandwich shop from Florence, Italy. It's really good and lives up to the hype. Tokuyamatcha & Onigirazu Bar serves these super souped up rice balls. IMO they're closer to a sandwich than a onigiri. Katz / 2nd ave / Sarge will have a great pastrami/corn beef sandwich. KJUN is a Korean - Cajun fusion spot and I really enjoyed their poboy.

replying to u/Texas_Rockets: Mine are - Kafana: Serbian spot in alphabet city - tokuyamatcha & Onigirazu bar: onigiri spot in alphabet city. If you’ve had onigiri it’s not going to be the best you’ve ever had, but it’s good and it’s hard to find good onigiri here - little kirin: Vietnamese sandwich spot. But what they do really well is a Vietnamese style fried chicken sandwich on brioche. First and st marks. Fucking terrible atmosphere though. - c&b: idk how under the radar they are but they make probably my favorite breakfast sandwich in Manhattan. Chorizo egg and cheese on, I believe, brioche, and I’m usually not a chorizo guy.
