replying to u/Forgemasterblaster: I love baguettes and have tried to go to every place in the city that’s worth it. - Cost. Go to Heritage Grand Bakery in Bryant Park. $3.50. It’s essentially the Maison Kayser recipe and 2/3 the size of most full size baguettes. - Flavor. Bread story. Former Maison Kayser US baker. Nice spot in west side near Peter cooper. - Unique. ALF. Basement of Chelsea Market. The laminated baguette isn’t my thing and worth a try. - Crust. Balthazar or Frenchette Bakery. Both downtown. IMO, Frenchette restaurant is highway robbery as they charge $10 for a Demi baguette where as you can buy a full one for $6 from their bakery. - Best overall. She wolf bakery. They have unique flavor, crust, and airiness. There’s tons of others like crispy heaven, orwashers, Brooklyn French bakers, silver moon.
