replying to u/Gubfish: Upscale how? It’s super casual in there. It’s probably the most authentic schnitzel I’ve had. OP if you’re lucky enough to come across the Lev NYC food cart by the REI- they have an incredible schnitzel salad that’s worth checking out.

replying to u/ayayadae: shifka just opened in boho/bowery and is already one of my new favs for a pita sandwich. i had the harissa chicken which was delicious but the schnitzel is the ‘famous’ offering. for vegetarian the eggplant is supposed to be great and there’s also a cauliflower option. i’m not sure if they are served in a ‘traditional shaved style’ or what that even means, but i am very excited to go back and try them all.
