replying to u/sspecialists: I wouldn't go there at all. In Manhattan, if you just want the vibes, Mari Vanna is better and more fun, day of visit dependent. In Manhattan, if you want to try Russian dishes, I would go to the Russian Vodka Room or Russian Samovar.

replying to u/SWGTravel: It's not what it used to be. And it's not even Russian food anymore. The last time I was there, I couldn't believe how bad the food and the service was. No one working there was even Russian or Ukrainian. It was half empty and I was freezing the entire time because they apparantly don't want to pay to heat the place. The food was awful. If anyone is looking for Russian/Ukrainian food and doesn't mind spending a bit of money, you are much better off going to Mari Vanna. It's much more authentic than the tea room and has locations in Russia, London, and DC.
