replying to u/gnukidsontheblock: I agree with most of your take, my only disagreement is on the slight implication that tourists would be able to find a good neighborhood spot, because IME they're not that easy to find. I'm in the EV and most of the pizza is a step or two below Joe's, or not really "classic" NYC pizza. And you wouldn't even know because online reviews are probably manipulated a bit.

replying to u/gnukidsontheblock: Pops Pizza in East Village is pretty new and definitely not worthy of 4.9 stars. Its not bad, I’ve gone a few times because its the closest to me, but I commented in a thread about it on reddit once before and was immediately astroturfed.
