replying to u/pookgai: I'm honestly still searching for a good Ramen shop. I try a new place everytime and still havent found a spot that I can solidly recommend. If youre looking for Tsukemen, i can 100% recommend Okiboru in LES. Tsukemen is my favorite style and Okiboru is the only spot that nails the taste and texture. Ive tried tsukemen from many shops in NYC and CA and Okiboru is the closest to my experiences in Japan.
“Honestly, I think that good ramen is really easy to find in this town (Totto, Ippudo, Ichiran, Karakatta, Mr. Taka, Nakamura, TabeTomo, Jun-Men, Momosan, EAK, Ivan, etc.), so much so that none of them really stands head and shoulders above the rest.”

replying to u/jesxa: Closer to Penn, I’d recommend Mercato — a super cute little corner with rustic brick and solid pasta. Bottino (closer to Chelsea) is also a good Italian spot (I had my engagement dinner there!) and the outdoor dining in the yard should be quite lovely this time of the year, the weather has been so nice 🍂 Junmen is a good spot if you’re feelin Asian, and of course would recommend Juban for drinks but that’s more of an evening affair :) cute sense of Chelsea is really pretty with good healthy options as well. Bluestone Lane in the Eugene building is a good option for a casual no fuss lunch in a comfortable setting
