  • delectable smash burger with fried onions and melted cheese. Hits hard and usually a v solid beer selection. weird vibes, essentially a Pod hotel lobby, but absoulutely delicous smashburger/thin patty style.

we like Mary’s (get the ‘sweet heat’), Clinton Hall, or Cooper’s

  • I am currently eating a pretty boss chicken blta wrap with a few fries for $10 at Clinton Hall on 36th, between 5th and 6th. Other options too, I can't even finish the wrap. Great value!

  • Look into Clinton Hall, which is a sociable beer garden in FiDi with games and stuff.

  • replying to u/crazeman: [I found your itinerary that you posted from another thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/visitingnyc/comments/1lrv20r/family_trip_itinerary_help/). I'll post it as a reply here instead since most of my suggestions are all food related lol. **7/26:** I would STRONGLY recommend to avoid the Halal Guys like the plague. They started franchising years ago and their food is nowhere near anywhere as good as it was before. They even replaced their lamb over rice to "gyro" (beef) over rice. Not worth the wait in their long ass over hyped lines. I think they're terrible to a point where if you picked a random halal cart in midtown, they would be the same if not better than the Halal guys (plus no wait). **7/28:** Eggloo is closed (google says "temporarily"). I think Taiyaki would be fun for the kids. You can also pop in next door to [Spongies Cafe (NYTimes Video on them)](https://youtu.be/cledNbOlKVE?si=PPTDVbQK_65iiiQo) and get a few HK style sponge cakes. They're cheap and very airy so it's not super filling. I think Wo Hop is only worth visiting if you're specifically looking for American-Chinese food or a mix of American-Chinese and Chinese food. I personally would skip it because I don't feel like their American-Chinese food is really that much better than other local mom and pop Chinese take out spots. **7/29:** If you want to hit up cookies spots, there's a [Levain's](https://maps.app.goo.gl/BMUqV4N78FqGCcQe8) and a [Janie's Life Changing Baked Goods](https://maps.app.goo.…

They have decent-good but not amazing food but they have giant chess/connect 4/jenga lol.
