  • replying to u/communal-napkin: NYC does have Rita's Italian Ice, but I wish it had MORE Rita's Italian Ices. I miss the one that was in the UWS. The only Manhattan one left is in the SI Ferry terminal and the Yelp review says it is nasty. If I had my way, there would be one on the UWS, one on the UES, one on St. Mark's, one in Chelsea like near FIT, one in Washington Heights (I know we have the piragua people and the Delicioso Coco Helado people, but I want my Swedish Fish italian ice).

    Half melted and overpriced.

  • replying to u/royalewithcheese51: Hot take, but I'm amazed at the Rita's love. Rita's sucks, the ice is just sugar water and their custard is fucking gross compared to actual ice cream. 100 times out of 100 I'd rather get ice cream than Rita's. I just don't get why it's so popular.

I’m lactose intolerant and I like sugar water.
