replying to u/BorderPristine6258: fully no shade like it’s not serious, but most of these comments are completely incorrect. you like dandelion bc it’s single-origin, bean-to-bar two ingredient chocolate with no added flavors or cocoa butter. mariebelle, LA burdick, li-lac are a completely opposite genre of chocolate and are not what you are looking for. look for chocolate makers — not chocolatiers. not that they are bad! you are asking for a specific rec, not just chocolate recs in general. of nyc based brands, you might like raaka bc they use kokoa kamili beans which dandelion also does and they have a pretty distinct profile but i would say mayyyybe not bc raaka focuses primarily on inclusions (flavors), only has one origin, and is also raw. nyc based chocolate makers are….okay compared to craft chocolate generally just bc rent is too expensive to economically sustain production of good cacao. but yes there are a lot of great chocolate makers generally that you can buy stock of that have bars comparible to dandelion. tldr, just look at dandelion’s retail list and see who stocks it in nyc. you can stick with dandelion if thats what you want. a priori cacao distributors stock the same few craft brands at speciality food stores but just go to a dedicated, bean-to-bar retailer so you can get get recs face to face. the meadow, chelsea market baskets, and cocoa store are going to be the only retailers that primarily sell chocolate in the same category as dandelion—instead of the sweeter, more commercial couver…

One of my favorite shops in the city. [The Meadow](https://maps.app.goo.gl/MS9hW2BNPK1QgPxZ6) has a LOT of chocolate bars from all over the world. They also specialize in "Artisanal salt" if that's your thing. [Kong Kee](https://maps.app.goo.gl/1iggh3RCigcu635i8) is one of those old school Chinese spots in Chinatown. They specialize in soy related products (Soy drinks, Tofu) and also sell freshly made raw rice noodles. [Sung Ming Jan](https://maps.app.goo.gl/HceYoxu5LnrDDegbA) makes Chinese sausage and cured pork belly in house. You can put Chinese Sausage in Fried Rice as your protein, it's what I grew up eating and it's my favorite form of fried rice. [HK Clay Pot with Chinese Sausage and Pork belly](https://thewoksoflife.com/hong-kong-style-clay-pot-rice/) is also one of my favorite lazy meals to make. (Pro Tip: If you order a HK Clay Pot dish from a restaurant, a lot of them would deliver it to you in a freaking clay pot.
