I always feel like I’m getting away with murder walking out with a huge $10 burrito and a bunch of homemade salsas too. And they don’t make their burritos 50% rice like some other places, it’s a lot of fresh ingredients.

  • Our favorite places that are cheap: Super Taste, meat over rice from Friends Halal, El Aguila for burritos (mmm...goat...), pita sandwiches from Hummus and Pita Co., custom heroes from Agata & Valentina (pick any meat and cheeses from their awesome deli).

  • replying to u/elevenpaperairplane: I haven't tried El Aguila but I have tried Dalila's Market/El Tepeyac (the one in the back of the small grocery, also near MCNY/El Barrio) The burrito at Dalila's was great, curious if you've tried both and if they stack up? Definitely wanna try El Aguila now hah

They are both great!!! El Aguila burrito holds a special place in my heart

  • replying to u/HiThisIsAnya: People on this sub are terrified of anything above 96th but the best burrito will absolutely be in East Harlem. El Tepeyac on 97th and Lexington is great if you want to sit down but if you're looking for something on-the-go then El Aguila (Lexington and maybe like 102nd, very close by) is cheap and terrific.

El Aguila hands down; that grandma has been there for years; I’ve seen her age but she stuffs the best burritos
