replying to u/JayMoots: Funny you ask, I just had a really good Spicy Sichuan Cumin Lamb from Red Bowl in Bay Ridge. Very spicy, very numbing, but not to the point where it overpowers the flavor. If you go there, also try their crispy beef. Maybe one of the best Chinese restaurant dishes I've had in my entire time living in NYC.
“They are very good. Another local option is Grand Sichuan - their cumin lamb isn't spicy but if you ask them to kick it up they'll gladly oblige. Flavor is a bit better than Red Bowl's as well.”

replying to u/Wagonforce13: For American style New Ruan's on 86th in Bensonhurst is very good. For anything a little.more authentic the same area has plenty of options. Mr. Bun is a personal favorite just a few blocks away. Red Bowl in Bay Ridge is very good too for American style Chinese.
