replying to u/rvdsn: I mean I suppose this is true for those on trend spots but a lot of the classic New York establishments are not a terribly tough res. Like Gramercy Tavern or Union Square Cafe. But also what neighborhood? I used to live in UES. So many casual spots. And this is pretty much true in most of Manhattan. We were obsessed with the UES Tolache location. Fantastic food and pretty easy to get a table.

replying to u/douglasdouglasdougla: UES was great for food, I particularly liked the Drunken Monkey Indian restaurant. It was fairly easy to get a table at and they had one of the best biryanis I’ve ever had.

replying to u/TreeLong7871: my favorite is Drunken Munke on the UES. from what I understand it's a specific type of Indian food. their Biryani is insane if you're in Astoria, Seva is also highly regarded. I live next to it and I don't imagine you can get much better take out then that
