Two hot dogs and a soda for $5. That's the whole reason people send you here. Billy himself is part of it, and regulars say you get a good conversation with the dog. It's the pick for a traditional near Central Park.

  • replying to u/RapidDevil85: Just wanted to thank you all for the recommendations. We had a great time in NYC and the food recommendations really helped. We did: Los Tacos #1 Hands down the best food we had in the area. The quesadillas were AMAZING! I thought the steak was best but pork also great. We didn't bother with the other taco place in grand central as if we were having this again, we would have had to come back here. Slice pizza vs $1.50 pizza slice off! It was an interesting battle. Slice had the better crisp on the undercarriage for sure. Probably edged the cheese slice but the pizza with toppings was won by $1.50 in our opinion on taste and significantly better value, anything other than just cheese at Slice was like $5+ but at $1.50 pizza was $2.25 a slice. However, $1.50 was inconsistent. The second time we went it was a different guy in there and it was nowhere near as good. So for cheese slices I'd go to slice pizza and for anything else go to $1.50. Service at Slice was much, much quicker for anything other than a cheese slice. Gourmet 45 Bodega It was a handy place to know about. We had the BEC which honestly, felt very mid, although we have nothing to compare it to. I will say the hot, fresh food by the lb looked absolutely great and would definitely try that if we went again. The coffee there was indeed 'respectable' for a self serve. We had a pecan tart which was great! All in all a really good recommendation. Chelsea Bagles A nice experience here. It seemed expen…

  • replying to u/thrixdog: Depends on where you go. My hot dog guy has been on my block on the UWS 93rd St., accross from Central Park for 30 years at least. He's always busy serving the maintenance workers and residents, the private school students from Columbia Prep and some tourists. He's such an institution that his cart is listed on Google maps as Billy's Hot Dog Cart.

    Love his hot dogs!
