↳replying to u/Appropriate-Tie-6524: Is Laliko the Georgian place on Carmine? My Russian family thought it was terrible. I thought it was fine.
I always recommend Mala Project and Benoit. The former totally rushed you on and out and basically doesn't serve wine.
I also go to Peking duck house a lot, but people on here hate that place.
“Laliko was terrible for authentic Georgian food. We were so excited to try it out because of how popular it is on social media, but we ended up not even finishing our food. Adjaruli wasn’t even made with real cheese, the consistency was more similar to cottage cheese; khinkali was drooping, etc. So overhyped”
“is a great Georgian restaurant. It just received a Bib Gourmand from Michelin (one of only two Georgian restaurants on the planet with such a designation.”
↳replying to u/TurtleThroughTime: There’s a lot of good reccs here, but I’m gonna throw one more into the mix.
Oda House is great. Upper East Side so it’s easy for you to get to from queens and Manhattan. Really cozy, fantastic Georgian food, and the right vibe for what you’re looking for. The magic of NYC dining is finding a spot that feels homey and exciting and they nail it.
“Laliko is amazing for Georgian food and more of an elevated experience.”
