    replying to u/elenafoxx: The places mentioned are pretty generic and  certainly not places that ‘foodies’ would be hanging out. Sistina isn’t too exciting-  if you want to have dinner on the Upper East Side try the brand new Marcel or the top rated Chez Fifi or Le V’eau D’Or. Classic drinks on UES at Benelman’s or The Mark. Or if it’s that you want Italian check out Rezdora/I Sodi/Via Carota/Roscioli.  The Plaza went downhill ages ago and has been boring for a long time- if you want an upscale afternoon tea the Baccarat hotel has the nicest one with lovely ambience; if you want a lower cost version have afternoon tea at one of the Firmdale hotels (The Whitby/The Crosby/ The Warren). Agree on The Fulton being better than Carne Mare and you’ll have a better view; it is kind of corporate though. If you want to have drinks in the area after there’s mixology cocktail bars at Manhatta and Overstory or the Little Shop in the seaport. There’s also a chic bar The Red Room inside the Le Printemps dept store on Wall Street (walking distance). While it’s nice to visit Central Park I would skip Boathouse and Tavern and have brunch in the East or West Village instead especially if you’re on the younger side. Generally speaking I would hang out more downtown; if you want nice cocktail spots Sip & Guzzle, Angel’s Share, Martiny’s, Experimental Cocktail Club, Tigre…  Check out the NY Eater site it’s pretty decent for dining recommendations.
