  • milady's martini (which i believe you can now only get at their happy hour) is one of my faves but def more casual, though their bar food is excellent

  • I really liked Milady’s! Good vibes, good cocktails, and the happy hour specials are $12 instead of $20 like usual.

  • replying to u/mfairview: I walked by milady's this weekend and was blown away by the "upgrade". I remember it back in the day as a dive we use to go to when we were in the area. I had to walk in and ask the hostess if it was one and the same and she acknowledged calling it an upscale dive now. that made me smile.

All in all it was pretty good!

  • Milady's is a little on the smaller side but it's good stuff regardless

  • replying to u/SoothedSnakePlant: There are quite a few of the really high-end bar programs that are open for lunchtime visitors! Dead Rabbit down in FiDi opens their first floor and their sister bar Irish Exit in Penn Station around 11 or 10 each morning (the more intimate upstairs lounge however, is evenings only, that said their drinks program even in the tavern area, is among the best in the city). Dante opens at noon at the latest and is open at 10 AM most days. Mother's Ruin is a more casual coxktail-oriented spot in EV that opens early most days. Maison Premiere deserves a mention here as well because their drinks program is incredible and they're open early but they do feel more like a restaurant than a bar at lunchtime and it's much more open than the other places you mentioned (then again, so is Dante). Bemelman's on the UES opens at noon daily and is probably closest in atmosphere to the two bars you mentioned. There's almost certainly a few heavy hitters I forgot to mention.

Milady’s and the Hotel Chelsea Lobby Bar are great all day options
