replying to u/RanOutofCookies: I’ve been here a couple times, but like ten years ago so do with this info what you will. But Famous Ben’s, back then, was a reliable slice. The kind of pizza you get as a kid from the pizzeria around the corner from your house. Where they keep the pies in a plastic case at room temp and heat them up when you order them, then throw them on a paper plate and inside a paper bag. Better than the $1 slice places - it was solid. Not sure how it is now.

replying to u/morganzabeans20: There’s a regular degular pizza spot called famous Ben’s on the corner of spring & Thompson they have an elite buffalo slice & it’s my go to for a slice of if I m walking to the train after work and am in dire need of pizza. Lucia’s is fab but leans more Italian style with a usually softer crust, their caramels piccanti is fab. Upside is amazing but they do a sourdough pizza crust that has a lil tang it’s still classic but it does have a little more flavor. My fav slice there is spicy vodka.

replying to u/Taarguss: Here’s the thing though, I really do think L’Industrie justifies itself. Or at least did last year in Williamsburg. I had a long free day of walking around doin nothing last summer and was like “what da hell,” and waited in the line and was extremely pleased with my slices. Maybe not a repeat thing, like, no reason to keep waiting forever to get a slice of pizza over and over again, but it is a tasty slice with some fun techniques. But pizza is pizza and pizza is good. Even the worst pizza is still pretty edible. Maybe the most always-edible-even-if-it-sucks food in the world.
“It can end up being fine or delicious.... but still, as you said, pizza is pizza, whether L'industrie or Ben's, there's only so much better a slice can be... and you might still decide, not worth doing again.”
