replying to u/grakkaw: Setting aside tasting menus, most restaurants in nyc are kid friendly if your kids will behave and you go early (like 6pm). So if there’s somewhere that seems particularly exciting to you, don’t be scared to try it. Otherwise, not really traditional “midtown” (but not so far either) - my kids like Upland, Riverpark, and Zatinya. Less exciting, but also good and kid friendly and since you asked for Italian - check out taralucci e vino. Not for a 10th anniversary dinner - but stretch pizza is good if you want a foodie pizza place.
