This is more of a vent bc I am thankful for your suggestions. I’ve been to morgensterns a bunch and have to say that I think it is severely overrated and is very average. Happy to be told im wrong and that I have a baby palate, but I would never take someone there in promises of good ice cream

I would start with [NYT top 100](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/dining/best-nyc-restaurants.html?unlocked_article_code=1.W08.H4lN.8yNtRE6hayrl&smid=url-share) restaurants. In my neighborhood Morningside Heights I especially like Masawa and Cafe [Massawa](https://CafeMassawahttps://g.co/kgs/Qg2FJL4) run by the same Ethiopian/Eritrean family. The original Massawa has been going since the 70s but had a nice refurb a couple of years ago and looks quite hip now..
