Mombar is often highly talked about, as is Abuqir (which is similar to Hamido if you've seen that on TT recently)

If you explain the situation to him and make a reservation, maybe he would be willing to have tarb on the menu for a night.

replying to u/gambalore: It's funny because Kabab Cafe used to be the first place people mentioned when talking about Little Egypt and now more and more I hear people mention Mombar. No hard feelings between them I'm sure since the owners/chefs of the two restaurants are brothers. Kabab Cafe is wonderful because there is no menu. You just go in and Ali will prepare you a delicious meal.

It's cash only and the menu changes based on what he picks up at the market that day - can't recommend it enough
