replying to u/BaetrixReloaded: as an indian, i feel like the drop off between the best and worst butter chicken isn’t really that steep. its a basic dish and ive never been so blown away by it that ive been like ‘damn this is the best butter chicken i’ve had’ i even went to the place that invented butter chicken in New Delhi, Moti Mahal. it was just like ‘yup, this is butter chicken alright’ any good indian spot that’s conveniently located to you will have good butter chicken. it’s kind of like chicken parm, no one’s ever like ‘damn dude this is the best chicken parm i’ve ever had!’
