replying to u/OffMar: Cafe Grumpy’s cold brew is damn good, and locally roasted. People keep suggesting Blue Bottle New Orleans, if you like a sweet coffee, go for that, but also BB is as corporate as it gets at this point- they are very much owned by Nestle.

replying to u/sworninmiles: Sey is the best for sure. I mostly make coffee at home with beans gotten through their subscription service but occasionally I’ll venture out to their cafe. I really enjoy their single origin aeropress cups even though they are quite light. I’ve also taken a liking to Cafe Grumpy which is the only non-Starbucks within a stone’s throw of my office. Their coffee has nice mushroomy earthy flavors to me which is a nice change up from the fruitiness of Sey. It’s probably not actually all that great but I’ve come to associate its taste with those high energy, nose-to-the-grindstone workdays which I quite enjoy
