Our server was pushy, tried to sell me on expensive bottle service I kept telling her I didn’t want, and said that we were ordering “too much food” (spoiler alert portions are tiny even by Manhattan standards). Someone told my sister her little veil was a “hat” so she was not allowed to wear it indoors, at the same time a girl was flashing her ass cheeks while dancing on top of this little area right in front of our table (as she should but also wtf a veil is not a hat). We were packed in like sardines, barely any air conditioning, and it was truly so overstimulating and completing underwhelming service/experience. I’m Ukrainian and love to go to these sorts of restaurants for party vibes/dinner and this was not it whatsoever.

They want to turn over as many tables as possible which is why they kick you out by 10 if you get the 8 reservation. They don’t care about your experience here, they care about how much cash you’ll spend and when they can get the next person to spend money.”

replying to u/thatsoundsalotlikeme: Oh man. I hate to blast them because they were so apologetic and I don’t even know if they’re still there but Maison Close. I went as a group for dinner and while the service was impeccable, the food was a disaster. We ordered a ton of food and absolutely nothing had flavor, things weren’t cooked correctly, the oysters had vermin in them and most of the things we left halfway finished. They ended up crediting us $200 dollars and giving us free champagne at the end (but we really just wanted to leave, didn’t want anything for free or refunded and didn’t complain — we just told them the issues at the end when they asked how everything was), so they definitely wanted to make it right. If I recall correctly, they mentioned their main chef was out that night. But the food that was delivered that day, we still laugh about.

replying to u/LeadershipFirst7250: Maison Close for me, stumbled in there for a quick cocktail and bite with friends staying nearby. They had an astrologer walking around selling services, then a so called magician etc. It was so cringy. Also the prices of everything is ridiculous. $45 for a glass of Moet is a highway robbery. Just had some apps and cocktails and they were not more than OK. On the positive side, never seen so many woman in one restaurant that were dressed to the nines and almost no men 2 o'clock on a sunday
