replying to u/BuxomSoupspoon: I can’t agree enough about Winson (both the bakery and restaurant across the street). I’ve been disappointed by all of the new wave Taiwanese/Chinese spots I’ve tried, Winson X 2 and wenwen in Greenpoint. Wanted to try Bonnie’s but figured it would probably be similar. I can get better food that’s more authentic and is much cheaper in Flushing etc. Underrated- Manducatis in Long Island City!! And Bahari in Astoria

replying to u/kmpham2013: They're always full, so pricing to me just seems like supply and demand. As for the food quality, I thought the donut was perfectly made and the fan tuan was constructed very well, the only item I really thought could be a miss was the BEC pancake. May I ask where you get your Taiwanese food? Unless it's making things at home of course, then you might be breaking my heart.

replying to u/pookgai: Mama Lee being #10 is crazy. It’s pretty mid Taiwanese food. There’s a few Taiwanese joints in bayside and they’re honestly all very similar in taste and quality. There’s nothing about Mama Lee that stands out enough for it to be #10.

replying to u/pookgai: Mama Lee being #10 is crazy. It’s pretty mid Taiwanese food. There’s a few Taiwanese joints in bayside and they’re honestly all very similar in taste and quality. There’s nothing about Mama Lee that stands out enough for it to be #10.

replying to u/plant_pig: There is none that's even remotely close to the quality of Fu Hang soy milk. Their thick shao bing with you tiao and egg combo is heavenly. Ok Ryan was a huge disappointment when I went a couple months ago. The shao bing was dry, the salty soil milk was bland. Win Son Bakery is probably the closest in term of tastiness, but it's technically Taiwanese American fusion.
