It's a fancy Italian grocery on the Upper East Side. People go for the , the homemade mozzarella and the custom heroes from the deli counter. Everyone says the same thing about the price, that most of it isn't worth buying unless it's a special occasion. A few regulars report moldy butter and spoiled cheese.

  • Agata & Valentina makes really good brioche buns, they're super soft and are perfect to cut open and grill the inside with a touch of butter before throwing down the patty between them.

  • replying to u/PeopleFunnyBoy: How has [Agata & Valentina](https://maps.app.goo.gl/42CJFMreLUvb8RJn9?g_st=ic) held up over the years? My wife lived on the UES from like 2008 -2010 when we dated and we loved going there. Was super fancy to us back then.

It's still very, very good. I live nearby the UES location and always get their baked goods whenever friends invite me over. During the summertime, I enjoy their overpriced yet delicious mango salsa and gazapacho.

  • Our favorite places that are cheap: Super Taste, meat over rice from Friends Halal, El Aguila for burritos (mmm...goat...), pita sandwiches from Hummus and Pita Co., custom heroes from Agata & Valentina (pick any meat and cheeses from their awesome deli).

  • replying to u/dirtymartinigirl: The gluten free Agata & Valentina on the NW corner of 79/1 has cannolis. They’ll cost you your life savings though.

They’re also terrible on top of expensive. Their other GF items can be solid but I’d skip the cannolis.
