replying to u/The_Wee: Have you been to Leyenda yet? Haven't been, but was recommended by a bartender when I was in Austin at The Roosevelt Room. They had come up for training at Blacktail, and said they were most impressed with Clover Club/Leyenda.

replying to u/brianja: This is what I noticed too. Maison Premier and Lucali are both in Brooklyn, but are quite a distance from each other. Plus, with Lucali's system (needing to be there in the afternoon to put a name in) the back and forth might be a pain.

replying to u/whtsabagginses: Context: I've gone to the place twice this year and the best I can describe it is... "meh". Vibes were cold in the bar. There are way better Mexican restaurants and way better Mexican-inspired cocktails out in NYC, but this place has been winning awards left and right. Am I missing something? Am I not going at the right time? Is there a specific drink that's blowing it out of the water?

replying to u/reddevil4life93: Same I’ve lived in the neighborhood now for 3 years and Clover Club is hit or miss relative to Leyenda. Talked to a friend of mine who owns another bar here and he helped me understand things a bit. Commercial leases are apparently signed on a 10 year period and there’s no cap on the increase post this. Investors who bought into Leyenda/loaned out to them/similar bars except to see RoI halfway through the lease term apparently (and another half of pure profits). In his opinion, it’s unfortunate and unlikely that the business replacing Leyenda will be something similar -(more likely to be a restaurant that drives volume or $/head)
