Daniel went from 2-star to 1-star, which is a pretty big fall from grace since it used to be 3-star a few years ago. I've not yet found any lists describing if anybody else has lost status, but I don't think there'd be any 3>2 drops or else it would be a major headline (as was the case last year for Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare).

replying to u/TamasaurusRex: Hah yeah good luck getting into le bernadin at this point. If you’re going to be at moma anyway check for spots at the bar at the Modern which is ACTUALLY there and sometimes takes walk ins and is still pricey as shit but not like automatic $500 pricey. What is it with people always defaulting to “Le Bernadin”? Like ok you know the fanciest place in Manhattan but most people who suggest this haven’t even been there anyway. Or like me your spouse might actually die because of allergies. There are plenty of beautiful amazing places to go that aren’t so esoteric or elitist or cost prohibitive.

replying to u/Born_Stable5668: Le Jardinier- they have a star and also have a 5pm res for that Saturday available. You’re a 20 minute walk to the theater for MJ which may sound daunting but if you turn on your city legs it’s really only 15 😉 The room is large and beautiful with very high ceilings so it does feel a tad stark but the upside is that you can actually hear your dining companions, the service is *excellent* and so is the food- took my mom and sis before a show, as someone else mentioned about a diff spot if you let them know you have a show at 8 they will pace accordingly. We did a la carte and it felt just as special as a tasting menu.
