replying to u/TheTeenageOldman: I'm very partial to the grandma slice at Iggy's. Everything else there tends to be high quality. Stomboli is always reliable. Haven't been to East Village Pizza in quite a few years, but remember it being good.

replying to u/gnukidsontheblock: I agree with most of your take, my only disagreement is on the slight implication that tourists would be able to find a good neighborhood spot, because IME they're not that easy to find. I'm in the EV and most of the pizza is a step or two below Joe's, or not really "classic" NYC pizza. And you wouldn't even know because online reviews are probably manipulated a bit.
