replying to u/Doodahman740: I'm from NHV and while id put our famous spots up against NYC Pizza any day of the week, it is not worth a 4 hour round trip train ride when there are so many great places in the city. I've seen Lucky Charlie's suggested a few times, that place is awesome and the vibe is great as well. I also think Johns of Bleeker and Patsys in East Harlem are very aligned with NHV Apizza. Also, the franchise locations for Pepe's and Sally's are trash, don't go to Yonkers or Stamford and think you're getting traditional Apizza. If you were staying for a week in warmer weather I'd say NHV is worth a day trip, but there is so much good pizza in NYC it's just not worth it.

replying to u/MaizeNBlueWaffle: If you're in NYC, I'd recommend taking a day trip up to New Haven. Sally's, Frank Pepe's, and Modern are all considered some of the best pizza in America. I think Sally's is a top 3 pizza I've ever had
