Joomak Banjum

AI-generated summary

Korean tasting menu, and the sweet and savory style splits people. The sourdough jajangmyun gets the most love, and a few say the desserts beat the mains. The studio counter is a lot though. People end up too full and over sugared to finish the last courses, so some suggest the shorter menu instead.

  • I enjoyed all 4 but my favorite is Joomak Banjum. Their sweet and savory style seems polarizing but if it’s up your alley I really recommend the studio counter. It’s a pretty decadent experience.

I would recommend the shorter menus over the studio counter. We couldn’t even touch more than a bite of the last two desserts since we were so overly full and over sugared

  • The combination of Korean flavors with French pastry technique is out of this world and one of the more unique meals I’ve had. Excellent service and very nice, laid back atmosphere.

  • replying to u/vagrantwastrel: Ah that’s interesting that you mention polarizing, I think Joomak is incredible and so creative but my worst meal there was at the counter. I also don’t know if it was just an off day but chef Kelly was in a horrible mood and was snapping at the other pastry chef, and just looked miserable to be throwing plates at us which just made it uncomfortable. And there were so many sweet elements that by the end we could barely touch the last two (delicious) desserts

I went to the first seating and she didn’t look too happy then either but zero issues with food and service was great. And I agree, it was hard to finish the last couple of desserts bc of how decadent the meal was.
