Westlight

6.2/10

AI-generated summary

People go for the view, 22 floors up looking at the whole Manhattan skyline. The food and cocktails split the room. Some call them solid, others say the food is meh and the drinks come out watered down and overpriced. Kids are allowed before 6pm.

  • I'd highly recommend Westlight in Williamsburg/Greenpoint. It shouldn't be too difficult to get to and has one of the nicest views of the Manhattan skyline you'll find. The drinks and food are great too.

  • Westlight in Williamsburg has great whole skyline views and allows kids before 6pm, our teenager loves going there to hang out and have a mocktail with us...

  • It's definitely the most upscale/expensive/impressive out of everything on your list, so guess it's up to whether you want to start or end the night with the killer view and fancy cocktail

  • replying to u/FancyConsideration63: lol. Sugarfish. It’s affordable, good sushi, but it’s a normal chain not a NYC classic. So for OP it’s a question of what you’re looking for. It’s fine to pop in for a quick lunch if you’re feeling sushi I suppose? But I wouldn’t take this as an “upscale” NYC experience. You want affordable quality with niche sushi vibes, do Sendo for lunch. No reservations, walk in only. Not “upscale” per se, but it is a curated menu and a little hole in the wall. Harriet’s has a great view, but they’re pretty rude. Westlight’s view in williamsburg is better and they’re generally much nicer. Manhatta and Overstory in manhattan also have compelling views, although I’d argue the cocktails are better at the Crownshy bar downstairs (same owner, different bar philosophies). Are the pancakes at Golden Dinner delicious? Yes. Are there a million other amazing brunches you can have in NYC (e.g, Clinton street etc?), also yes. On a weekend it’s a long wait unless you’re in line ~45-60 mins before they open. Maybe weekdays are different lol.

Westlight's drinks are also watered down, anytime I go I get 3-4 drinks and barely feel it
