There’s something about this place where the sum of all the average parts adds up to something special. Whenever I got I feel like it’s all other locals who feel the same way about it.

replying to u/Terrible_Put2975: Here's a thought: there's a great steakhouse near NYU, aptly called The Knickerbocker, and they have a bar area that serves a paired down version of its steakhouse menu. You can get some steaks and a great burger and they have TVs. I would def call ahead and see if they'll let you reserve bar seating, but that could be a great spot to watch!

replying to u/HotMountain9383: I would just go somewhere else, maybe Pastis could sub for Balthazar. Try Gramercy Tavern at the bar maybe. I also like Gotham Bar and Grill. If you want something really good and a local scene, try Knickabocker bar and grill, that’s a great spot.
