replying to u/One-Plantain-9454: I would skip the cupcake at magnolia and get banana pudding. If you want cupcakes go to Mollys cupcakes. It’s really close to Mamouns. Lots of pizza spots in the area too. Bleeker st is my fave for a grandma slice.

replying to u/crazeman: You can check out Molly's in the West Village, they are probably the most famous/popular cupcake spot in the city. Personally I don't like them that much because I find them to be too sugary and have too much going on. My old favorite was Georgetown cupcakes in Soho, their cupcakes were more on the nice and simple side. Unfortunately they closed during the pandemic.

replying to u/Glower_power: Tomi jazz doesn't take reservations and the line is crazy long. You'll wait for 2 hours on weekends. Book club is great but also gets full. Qahwah house has a new location on Carmine st next to Joe's. Molly's cupcakes, also around that corner, is open late and has cute games and books. Prince Tea Houses are everywhere and open late with lotssss of teas and desserts. Yu & me books used to be open late th-sat and might be again now that they're reopened. There's a few non alcoholic drink focused bars/cafes in the LES.

replying to u/CAwildcat: Agreed on Molly’s - much better cupcakes (bday is my fav) Id also say that golden diner is very busy. I arrived 30 min early to opening on a Saturday and the line was around the block and prob 2 hrs long. Still haven’t gotten in but trying. So word to the wise, grab a coffee, get there early, and wait. I think prince street is alright, I’m partial to upside but Prince is a classic / look at bleeker too Levain is a classic but I’ve had better. If you like a cake like cookie go, if not, I think Maman has an insane cookie so does daily provisions.
