Hometown Hotpot & BBQCLOSEDCHAIN

AI-generated summary

This was an all you can eat and place on Grand Street, and people judged it on price. The was the standout and the veggie broths got praise too. Meat quality wasn't great, and plenty of people called it mid and pointed to better AYCE spots in Chinatown.

  • Hometown Hotpot & BBQ was also super knowledgable about vegan broths & sauces and were just generally very accomodating!

  • Haven’t been in a few years but we always liked Hometown.  It’s not fancy and the quality of the meat probably isn’t the best but it’s AYCE for a decent price and we always enjoy it.

  • replying to u/TimelyOwl: They used to be good but last time I went (pre-covid), it was terrible. Their menu was scaled down and they didn’t have much options. And I personally avoid this place because the owners are Trump supporters. There are way better AYCE hotpot places in Chinatown that also have the birthday promos. - Hometown Hotpot & BBQ - LaoJie Hotpot - Easy Joy Dim Sum & Hot Pot (pretty new. They had a lot of options)

Hometown was much much better. Higher quality, better soup bases, cleaner restaurant.

  • Laojie or Hometown are my votes. Laojie is my favorite but not as vegan/vegetarian friendly as Hometown, plus Hometown has a few unique items to their menu (curry broth, for one).

The curry broth is soooo good.
