replying to u/GirlFriday360: Have you tried La Masseria (shockingly, in Times Square)? One of the best coffees I've had in NYC. It's small - so small there's no seating inside. Old school. I believe $4.50 so not cheap but not crazy expensive either.

It’s a nice place to go before a Broadway show if that’s part of your plans for the visit
