replying to u/cal_oski: I thought Win Son was not very good (way too greasy and not a lot of flavor and some of the worst salty soy milk I've ever had). The golden diner pancakes are solid, but not amazing. Apollo in FiDi has zero wait. I enjoy that style of bagel and alternate with Liberty and Utopia when I'm looking for carbs. I love R&D for their smoked fish (Sable specifically) but their bagels are some of the worst in the city.

replying to u/114631: Personally would skip Black Seed Bagels. They were good when they first opened but now they've gone kinda mainstream and they're just okay. I wouldn't go out of my way for those (especially since they're Montreal style bagels and not NYC style). Many other bagels that are more worth it IMO. Same with artichoke pizza. It's good, not mind-blowing. Like, good drunk food? But there are soooooo many other things I'd get over artichoke pizza. Also this might be persona taste, but was sooooo disappointed by Donut Pub. It's just so meh. Peter Pan is very popular (saw on your list) and nearby is also Moe's Dough's - they do cake doughnuts and I LOVE their pistachio one.

replying to u/shamam: I didn't care for Kazu Nori, I had 6 rolls and they all tasted the same. Try Nami Nori instead which is a couple of blocks away. Big ups to you for looking into Varsanos, it's nice to see people shop local. Pop up bagel is a social media fad, there are plenty of better recommendations in the sub. I'm a Murray's guy, but it's also local to me so that probably has a lot to do with it.

replying to u/JayMoots: Pop Up is pretty legit. Lots of annoying quirks (long lines, no sandwiches, only available for purchase in increments of 3) but one of the most satisfying bagels I've had in my entire life. Tompkins Square is probably my second favorite at the moment. I used to be a Murray's die-hard, but they've slipped a bit the last few times I've gone. Still way above average, but not as good as they used to be.
