replying to u/graziemillebambini: If cost is truly no issue, it's hard to beat the West Village and the East Village. The West Village is beautiful and there are a ton of standard, but nice expensive/expensive-ish restaurants. You can also get great cheaper food near Washington Square Park at places like Manousheh and the dosa cart. East Village/LES isn't quite as pretty/a bit busier, but is probably superior in terms of variety and quality of restaurants at all price points. There are lots of pricy/hip spots, but you can also get a fantastic cheaper meal at places like Cafe Himalaya, Punjabi Deli, Russ and Daughters, and Yonah Schimmel.

replying to u/Standard_Pudding_461: Some mega suggestions here, thank you! Planta is top of our list. We hit a place today, Hummus Place, absolutely loved it. Veggie, not vegan, but really good food! Think we'll hit Planta on Sunday before we head back to Ireland!

replying to u/thansal: TBH, if you're just looking for vegetarian most places will have a few good options, vegetarian friendly is almost the default these days. Like, every Indian restaurant is great for vegetarians, not so great for vegans, same for 'Mediterranean' or Italian. In Manhattan: * Spicy Moon - Vegan Szechuan, dry pepper style or cumin style being my top picks (especially b/c they'll give it to you with a big selection of different veggies). * Manousheh - Lebanese flatbread w/ fillings. Their falafel is fantastic, but they have a few veg options. * Budha Bodai - Kosher Veg Chinese in Chinatown. The faux roast pork and the orange 'beef' (mushroom) are my top picks. * Jajaja - vegan Mexican * Cafe Mogador - Moroccan staple of the East Village, but will some diner classics as well. * Every quick service place will have a veg option. * Pizza.
