Lions Tigers and SquaresCLOSEDCHAIN

5.6/10

AI-generated summary

This was the place on 23rd and 8th. Fans called it the best Detroit style in the city and told you to show up hungry, because a square was heavy. Others found it greasy and too salty, and nine or ten dollars a slice stung. Delivery orders came out underbaked more than once.

I had high hopes but I was mostly disappointed. It was kind of gross, in the way pizza is usually gross when it’s been sitting out for an hour and then gets reheated in an ancient oven.

they're great when i've gone in-store. got it twice through delivery and they were raw (legitimately raw dough inside) both times, which were separated by years in between.

Aces and lions tigers and squares are both terrific. Aces has a very cool retro vibe with table service, lions tigers and squares is cheaper, great quick takeout spot

Damn I really liked their slice, even though $10 per square was a bit abysmal

  • replying to u/purplesnowcone: How is lions tigers and squares? I’ve been craving some Detroit style but when I went by that place it seemed pretty dingey so I passed on it. I know don’t judge a book by its cover and all but I mean it felt gross. Emmy Squared scratched the itch but I know Detroit style can be better than that— for being fresh out of the over the edges weren’t as crispy crunchy as one would like and the middle was a big soggy and kind of too dense overall.

I’ve been like 5 times. One bad day but the others were fantastic if you love Detroit style. Try the vodka.
