A between St. Marks and 7 st - Odessa, it’s closed for a while, but it was similar to Little Poland

replying to u/originalcondition: [Karczma](https://karczmabrooklyn.com/en/) in Greenpoint is delicious and serves big portions for extremely reasonable prices. I've heard it's about as close to authentic Polish as you can get in NY (but I'm not from Poland, so, take with a grain of salt). There's a good mix of stuff that is fairly familiar and stuff that you wouldn't be familiar with if you haven't had lots of authentic Polish food. I took some out-of-town visitors from the American South. The parents are semi-adventurous eaters, but their teenage sons are always hungry but also very picky. Everyone left full and happy! It's fairly close to the G train, but it's also close to a ferry stop if you'd like to take your parents on the ferry to see the Brooklyn/Manhattan East Side waterfronts.

replying to u/Maleficent-Sir4824: Everyone knows Veselka, but not a lot of people know the Ukrainian East Village Restaurant (yes that's it's name, not very creative) which in my opinion is even better. It's literally directly around the corner from Veselka and is hidden away inside a building there that has several other Ukrainian related offices inside. You have to go down the hall to find it. replying to u/perispomenon: A lot probably depends on how far you're willing to go. For Georgian, for instance, I like the khinkali at Tone Cafe on Neptune Ave, but they're also fine if a little pricier at the multiple branches of Chama Mama. If already down this way, you could also consider Laghman Express (Kyrgyz) or Urgut Tandir Express (Uzbek), both for manti. For pierogi, now that Polka Dot is closed I'd probably hit up Karczma or Little Poland in Manhattan (I'm a sauerkraut/mushroom fellow myself) - Pierozek is quite good but a little bit too buttery for my taste, and I think Baba's is good if you're already in the area (if traveling to acquire pierogi, though, I prefer a bit more chew to the wrapper; personal preference). Depending on how flexible you are with your definition of dumpling, it's been ages since I got the pyzy at Pyza but they'll definitely stick to your ribs!
