replying to u/misstheolddaysfan: It depends what they like to eat, and what country they are coming from but I'll give you all my quick and affordables. First- fast food in times square, and fast casual is everywhere. So Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips, Raising Cains, Jolibee, Shake Shack. The best cheap food in times square is one block away from where they are staying- Los Tacos. Its cheap. Its good. Its fast. Its perfect. If they like Cuban food or Cuban sandwiches, Margon. If they have time for a short walk- food courts that are walkable. URBAN HAWKER- Southeast Asian street food court. UNDER 30 ROCK- has potbelly sandwiches, pizza, shakeshack, various types of bowls and salad restaurants, many options. TOASTIES- walkable from times square- quick salad and sandwich place (lunch only) and its cheaper than many other similar places. On 49th street. PIC NIC DIGITAL FOOD COURT- take out only but they offer fast take out from a large number of restaurants. DINERS & BODEGAS & PIZZA SLICES & BAGELS Beware of things called diners that are actually crazy prized restaurants like Ellens Stardust, Brooklyn Diner and Carnegie diner. Opt instead for Westway Diner, Galaxy Diner. Bagel Market is well located for bagel meals.
