  • This place was a gem! I went for lunch and had the ‘seafood and three.’ The seafood was *incredible* (melt-in-the-mouth fresh), but honestly the star was the cornbread.

Strange Delight’s sandwich is delish but it’s not a poboy. It’s a loaf, more like what you’d get at Casamento’s except SD uses milk bread. Which, while I love milk bread, I actually hate towards the end when the bread gets soggy.

  • They have an overpriced menu of mediocre appetizers and they announced some "menu changes" which were really ways they cheapened the experience.

  • replying to u/Federal-Pear-3848: I’m a bit scared to say this but I went to Strange Delight last week and was mystified by the hype. Strange (lol) flavor combinations that just didn’t seem to work, and odd, greasy textures. For example, I don’t understand serving a smoked trout drip with heavily Cajun-seasoned saltines. All I could taste was paprika and cayenne, not the trout or the smoke. The fried fish and green tomato basket was greasy and heavy; the wedge salad smothered giardinara was wet. And I desperate for some vegetables halfway through the meal. Just none of it made sense to me.

I was blown away by how bad Strange Delight was. The greens tasted of nothing. Agreed, the flavor combinations and preparations of other dishes didn’t make sense.

  • where they messed up our order, gave us an extra dessert we didn’t ask for to “fix” it, and charged for the extra dessert.

Strange delight may be the best fried chicken I've ever had, although when I went it was expensive for what you got. I have tried a number of top fried chicken places around the country and strange delight was just perfection.
