replying to u/EasternWillow7252: The Churchill (bonus: Churchill speeches playing in the bathroom), Jones Wood Foundry (other people seem to love this place, I’m a little lukewarm though it’s been a few years since I’ve been) and The Shakespeare (I’m inclined to shy away from hotel-based restaurants/bars, but it’s a cool little spot). Eager to hear other suggestions!

I appreciate that restaurants need to maximize their covers, but the tables on both sides of us were uncomfortably close. Like, physically uncomfortable; we went for the tea service and it was really difficult to navigate the meal because we had to sort of keep our elbows tucked in to not hit another diner and the table was really full with the tea pots and tiered trays.

Honestly my friend and I just went for the first time because we think it’s hilarious. Very on theme. All British servers. Has a British candy shop attached. Many many kinds of tea. Overall, good food, fun place to be.
