  • replying to u/Possible-Source-2454: Didn’t see it mentioned yet, an oldie but a goodie: Amys Bread

Amy's bread puts out a baguette that qualifies as white Wonder bread. No crust, nu crumb, just floppy white bread. Awful.

The cakes at Amy’s Bread are the best in the city in my opinion! They look humble but they are soooo tasty

Get the scone. Even if you don’t like scones. Especially if you don’t like scones.

As someone else mentioned, Little Pie Company is not far. Try their sour cream apple or key lime pies. There's also Schmackary's, opened by a Broadway ensemble actor who started out making cookies for his cast mates and friends. You can also go to Bryant Park and get babka from the Breads Bakery stand there.

I like the black and white layer cake. Also the cherry cream scone.

  • replying to u/popeIeo: depends on the area, but in midtown? **Amy's Bread** for sure and also Bread's Bakery looks like they have killing stuff for a chain(ish) place.

I had a delicious slice of Amy’s Bread banana cake from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library cafe (on the 7th floor) and ate it on the balcony there. Perfect afternoon treat
