replying to u/R-O-U-Ssdontexist: I’ve tried a lot of carts in the area and don’t get this. adels and shawarma bay are average at best and halal guys is below average. I don’t understand any of this nonsense; my go to’s are royal grill on 44th and 6th or king of falafel on 53rd and park. I don’t understand what anyone is thinking? I feel like my taste buds are taking crazy pills. Is it because they are open very late?

replying to u/dummonger: I like Adel’s. I think it’s very good and I enjoy occasionally waiting in line for things like this as I find it a “New York bonding experience”. Everyone at this current moment has agreed this is a thing worth waiting for. It’s kind of nice. That said, if you don’t want to wait in line, Royal Grill a few blocks south on 44th is also excellent and never has a line. I recommend the Kati rolls. Great lamb, super fresh rice, incredibly flavorful chicken, free seasoned fries and jalapeños, only $8, spicy red sauce. It's the whole package. Both [Farooks](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cgr_sb_JSXy/?img_index=1) and [Santa](https://www.instagram.com/p/CtAQjWMP62W/?img_index=1) right next to each other on 14th and 3rd are also top tier. Farook has great lamb, and puts free pita and then layers it with extra white sauce. The Santa chicken is one of the best. If you like green sauce, [Halal Kitchen](https://www.instagram.com/p/CpWInD-vG1T/?img_index=1) also near Union Square has the best by far - it's creamy, spicy, and delicious. Also on [86th and 5th](https://www.instagram.com/p/ChhuiLjuXbI/?img_index=1) in Bay Ridge, there's a pretty great truck with great meat and some of the best (aka spiciest) red sauce you'll find. If you try any of these, let me know what you think!

Just skip hot sauce, go combo over rice, extra white sauce if you want to really increase straight up calories lol Buy

The meat is (expectedly) good and fresh given the amount of turnaround due to how busy it is, but the rice was disappointing. In general, no halal truck is worth even 30 minutes of waiting given how many great options there are with 0 minutes wait. I'd recommend [Midos](https://www.instagram.com/p/CinK1dnukis/?img_index=1), [Farooks](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cgr_sb_JSXy/?img_index=1), and the incredibly underrated [115th & Broadway](https://www.instagram.com/p/CKHLIX9HD4I/?img_index=1) truck way before telling anyone to wait 2+ hours for Adels.
