Arthur and Sons NY ItalianCHAIN

4.7/10Italian

AI-generated summary

People argue about this one. Fans go for red sauce Italian with big portions to share and say it's an easier reservation than Don Angie or Torrisi. Critics call it overrated influencer bait and say the arrives undercooked or gluey. The is the exact dish both sides fight over.

  • Arthur and Sons "spicy" rigatoni alla vodka wasn't spicy at all. 15 bucks for a bit of undercooked pasta, sauce, and cheese in a paper saucer without any meat in it is ridiculous.

  • replying to u/cjmmoseley: friday: ———————————————- paros (tuna tartare with avocado mousse and caviar, tzatziki and pita) this was delightful. the tzatziki was some of the best i’ve had, and i’ve been to greece. it tastes truly authentic and the pita was fantastic as well. the service was excellent, as was the food. i got the tuna tartare, and my only note is that there was quite a bit of avocado mousse that slightly overwhelmed the dish. i ended up just scraping it off because im not the biggest fan of avocado. i also think the portions were a little small given the prices, but i wasn’t surprised by that. otherwise, it was delicious. we also got two iced cappuccinos, and those were wonderful as well. they had a cute little dusting of cinnamon on top that was also very good. i would absolutely come back here! 10/10 domo domo (sushi + handroll course, apple cinnamon cocktail) yummy. this place was a lot better than kazunori (tuesday) imo. for not much more (price-wise) you get more variation and more food. the sushi course was obviously my favorite part, i LOVE the use of truffle and the pesto, lemon zest, and bluefin live rent free in my head. it was fantastic! i had some of my moms shrimp dumplings as well (her favorite) and they were spectacular. the handroll course with the salmon + apple butter was also delicious, and complimented each other perfectly. the apple cinnamon cocktail went with everything surprisingly well. not too fall-heavy imo. i will be returning and recommending this place…

our waitress was very nice, the mozzarella sticks were delicious, and the portions were large. the chicken piccata is very good, but the spicy vodka rigatoni (which i took off my moms plate) was even better imo.

  • The spumoni is a bit of a deconstructed situation—instead of a terrine it takes the form of a sundae, with pistachio ice cream over Nutella topped with a cherry syrup and amaretto cookies. The flavor profile is spot on and the bartender was great.
