replying to u/FuelledOnRice: What were your favourites? I went to Carnitas Ramirez rather than the Taqueria but they were an absolute knockout. Radio Bakery was also very good, the everything foccacia and matcha mango morning bun are amazing!

replying to u/JayMoots: Instead of The Smith, look at something in the vein of Union Square Cafe, Joseph Leonard, Gramercy Tavern or Gotham Bar and Grill. They all have New American food that's elevated but still not too "weird", and are much better than The Smith. (The Smith is *fine*, by the way. People on this sub act like you'll die from food poisoning if you eat there, but it's not that bad. It's just kind of mid. The food's decent enough, if not particularly exciting. The decor and clientele are #basic. You can definitely do a lot better, but you could also do a lot worse.)
